About Us

Proudly Melbourne. Genuinely invested in the businesses that make our community thrive.

Since 2003, we have been delivering quality IT support and managed services to micro and small businesses throughout Melbourne. We started 1300 INTECH because we believed the small businesses at the heart of Melbourne deserved more than generic IT solutions and faceless support desks.

Our Philosophy

Great IT support starts with listening. We understand your business before recommending a solution. That's what makes us a partner, not just a provider.

Who We Serve

We don't bolt on services designed for corporates. Our approach is built around the realities of micro and small business — lean teams, tight budgets, and high stakes.

What We Do

We provide IT support and managed services, offering everything from remote help desk assistance and onsite support to network solutions, software integration, and cloud platform management.

Our Values

Innovation, accountability, and environmental care sit at the heart of everything we do. Technology should lift people up and tread lightly on the planet.

Four decades of experience. Lived, not just learned. Every business our founder built left its mark on what 1300 INTECH is today.

1984

Arthurson Computing Services

It all started here. Our founder, Alan established Arthurson Computing Services, his first business, developing financial software for clients across insurance, credit unions, and manufacturing.

Working alongside Control Data's Business Solutions International, it was an early, hands-on education in how technology, when done right, can genuinely transform the way a business operates.

1988

Corporate Clones Melbourne

Alan then took another bold step, founding Corporate Clones, a business that focused on building and selling IBM-compatible PCs to both corporate and home users from two locations, South Melbourne and Montrose, at a time when Windows was still battling DOS and personal computers were a serious investment.

1996

BBF Components and Peripherals

Alan then transitioned to BBF, one of Australia's great IT distributors, based in Bayswater — broadening his knowledge of the full hardware supply chain and building deep, lasting relationships across the industry.

When Bluechip IT acquired BBF in 2003, it was the nudge he needed to build something new from the ground up.

2003

1300 INTECH is born

With nearly 20 years across software development, PC retail, and wholesale distribution, Alan founded InTech SMG, the company behind 1300 INTECH. The name captures the vision perfectly:

In(formation)Tech(nology). Built from the ground up to give Melbourne's small businesses the IT partner they had always deserved.

An unlikely mascot for an IT company, and exactly the right one. Theodore isn't just a symbol; he's a daily reminder of why what we do matters.

Why a frog?

Back in 2006, we wanted a mascot that would do more than look good on a logo. We found our answer at Melbourne Zoo, a tiny Australian Green Tree Frog, raised by expert herpetologist Damian Goodall.

Theodore has been with us ever since, quietly reminding our team that every business decision has consequences for people and for the planet we share.

Nature's Barometer

Frogs are highly sensitive to environmental toxins. Where they thrive, ecosystems are healthy. Where they disappear, we should all take notice.

A Global Crisis

Frog populations worldwide are declining due to pollution and habitat loss. By championing Theodore, we advocate for broader amphibian conservation.

Tech Meets Nature

Theodore reminds us that technology and nature must coexist. Every business choice we make has the power to either harm or heal the world around us.

Proudly Australian

The Green Tree Frog is an icon of Australia's biodiversity, reflecting our pride in this country and its unique natural environment.
